Everyone wants to produce a good essay especially for those who will sit for MUET. When we want to write an essay, introduction is very important because it can attract the readers to continue their reading on our essay. To make the readers interested with our essay, the introduction must have the thesis statement.
Example :
GENERAL : There are three ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
SPECIFIC : There are a number of ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle such as doing exercise regularly, taking a healthy food and having enough sleep.
OR
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be done through this three effective ways such as ...
Besides having a thesis statement, our grammar must be right and use the sophisticated verbs to make the readers not boring when reading our essay.
Example of full introduction :
Lately, there has been a concern about the increasing number of road accidents. From January to May 2013, a total of 1849 road deaths were recorded. This is a worrying trend and concrete measures have to be taken to overcome this issue. The measures that we can take to overcome road accidents are following road rules, maintaining transportation regularly and imposing heavier punishment.
If you look at this introduction, it have the facts. It shows that we are reading and we can gain more marks.
